A perfume (Latin, perfumare for smoke through) is essentially a cosmetic product to be used on the human body its pleasing scent mask odor and have feeling of freshness. composed fragrances which are aromatic compounds essential oils, solvents fixatives. These chemicals or derived mostly from botanical sources. that usually consists few hundreds fragrance materials remains major source contact allergy them. Everyone comes in with daily life either directly application skin, cosmetics, occasionally after fragrance-containing household other personal care products. Cosmetics products such as perfume(s), deodorant, aftershave lotion/gel, eau de cologne, toilette highest ever concentrations remain sensitivity fragrances. The adverse effects associated use perfumes both allergic irritant dermatitis, pigmented phototoxicity photoallergy, urticaria. Systemic toxicity may also occur following inhalation ingestion fragrance(s) causing respiratory illness, headache, attacks migraine. However, dermatitis by far commonest cutaneous effects. Colophony, Myroxylon pereirae , lanolin, formaldehyde, vanillin, musk mix, rose oil, cetostearyl alcohol, more than 160 fragrances, single complex mixtures (methyl ionones), oils ( Evernia furfuracea (treemoss) extract, E. prunastri (oakmoss) Ferula galbaniflua gum, Narcissus poeticus flower Viola odorata leaf extract) caused most instances. Ylang-ylang jasmine absolute, Cananga benzyl salicylate, hydroxyl citronellal, sandalwood, geraniol common cause pigmentary changes. This review highlights composition constituent identified commonly allergens. brief insight provided diagnosis present safety regulatory status.
